Heroes of Faith Men's Event

Men, Join us Saturday, August 29, 2026, 8 am–10:45 am (doors open 7:15 am) at Double Oak Community Church for the 2026 Heroes of Faith Special Event brought to us by Aaron & Hur Society. This event is designed for men (ages 12 & up), and breakfast is included.

You will hear firsthand stories from U.S. Armed Forces chaplains on how the Gospel transformed lives in the most demanding military environments, plus practical lessons in bold spiritual leadership. Speakers include keynote Jeff Struecker (retired Army chaplain, Silver Star recipient, and the Battle of Mogadishu veteran portrayed in Black Hawk Down), Eric Hammen (retired Navy chaplain, 30-year veteran), and Matt Berrens (active-duty Navy captain and chaplain), with worship and a panel session.

Why men should come? This event is  built to challenge men to lead with conviction and gospel courage at home, at work, and in the church — honoring those who've served while equipping everyone to stand firm in their own faith. Proceeds also support full-time scholarships for the next generation of evangelical military chaplains.

The cost is $21 per man, $9 additional to bring a friend, and breakfast is included! Make sure to reserve your tickets in advance!

D3 COACHING-INFO MEETING

DOCC is excited to share a new local mission opportunity. Through a partnership with a trusted local ministry serving vulnerable, at-risk students, we are inviting DOCC members to step into a life-changing role as a D3 Coach—someone who walks alongside a student transitioning from high school into adulthood. Join us for an Interest Meeting Sunday, May 31 following the second service in the Cafe.

D3 stands for Developing, Directing, and Discipling. And at the heart of this calling is a simple but profound goal: Build trust, Speak into a student’s life, Help them navigate one of the most critical seasons they will ever face. As a D3 Coach, you won’t have to have all the answers—you just need a willing heart. You’ll serve as a consistent, caring presence while connecting your student to the right resources and support systems already in place.

Application: You could anticipate walking alongside your student in areas such as:

  • Career and life skills

  • Housing and transportation

  • Educational direction

  • Financial and health awareness

  • Spiritual growth and mentorship

Yet you will not walk alone. You’ll be equipped and supported through our ministry partners that provide the tools and resources—you provide the relationship.

Gentlemen, get ready for an evening designed just for you! We're thrilled to host a special men's event featuring former Navy Seal and entrepreneur Jared Hudson. Join us Sunday, July 13 in the Double Oak Community Church Worship Room for a dinner at 5:30 PM. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy great food, build connections, and grow together in community.

Following dinner, Jared Hudson will share an inspiring message that promises to be both encouraging and impactful. Come be a part of an evening that aims to uplift and strengthen every man who attends. We're looking forward to seeing you there!

The cost of the meal is $10 per person, and we would love for you to invite your neighbors & friends. Please RSVP by Wednesday, July 9th.

Jared Hudson is a former U.S. Navy SEAL, author, and dedicated follower of Christ.
