GRANDPARENT NIGHT - LEGO EDITION

Grandparents have a unique and lasting influence in the lives of their grandchildren. Join us for a special evening designed to celebrate the gift of grandparenting and the important role grandparents play in building a legacy of faith.

Grandparents and their grandchildren will enjoy a night filled with dinner, LEGO building fun, meaningful conversations, and a special devotional time led by Cindy Saucer. As we build with LEGO bricks, we’ll be reminded that the most important things we build are the relationships and faith foundations that last for generations.

Come ready to laugh, create, and make memories together as we build a legacy of faith! The cost of the event is $25 per family and includes a pizza dinner. Please make plans to join us!

HSM Rooted Focus Group (Girls)-Led By Audrey Bond and Paige Guthals

8 week Study, Sundays 12 pm - 1:30 pm, starting 9/20 | Begin in Student Worship Room with FREE Lunch

Just as [ in His love ] He chose us in Christ [ actually selected us for Himself as His own ] beforethe foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [ that is, consecrated, set apart for Him,purpose-driven ] and blameless in His sight. Ephesians 1:4 (Amplified version) Your value and purpose were established by God before the foundation of the world and certainly, before you ever did a single thing. That’s what and who you are-LOVED, CHOSEN,SET APART FOR HIM, GIVEN PURPOSE. When you understand that, it changes how you see yourself, how you treat others, and how you walk through life.

With the laser focus LOVE of GOD in Ephesians 1:4 as our foundation, we will explore topics of identity, purpose, joy in hard times, our spiritual gifts, performance and perfection, peer pressure and purity.

This study will encourage you and build your understanding of God’s Love with you as the recipient. YOU. As you are, as He made you, where He placed you, as He gifted and called you. We can’t wait to see what God has for us!

8 week Study, Sundays 12 pm - 1:30 pm, starting 9/20 | MEET FOR FREE LUNCH IN STUDENT WORSHIP ROOM

Are you ready for the Great Sabotage?

Are you ready to trade shallow cultural clichés for a worldview that is **"big enough"** to make sense of all reality? We invite high school students to join us for an exciting 8-week journey exploring the grand story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. Drawing from the brilliant logic of C.S. Lewis’s *Mere Christianity* and the cultural insights of the Colson Center, we will dive deep into the ultimate questions of truth, identity, and what it truly means to be human. Together, we will discover how our internal moral compass acts as a "clue to the meaning of the universe", why the modern pressure to self-invent leaves us anxious and empty, and how the Incarnation of Jesus was actually a daring **"invasion"** to pay our incurable debt and start a revolution of restoration. This course is designed to equip students with a firm place to stand so they can **stand tall when the cultural trends at their feet feel like quicksand**—proving that while the Christian faith is deeply personal, it was never meant to be private.

HSM Rooted Focus Group (Guys)-Led By Mike Mantooth and Rocky Mayo

8 week Study, Sundays 12 pm - 1:30 pm, starting 9/20 | Begin in Student Worship Room with FREE Lunch

Why Sexual Purity Matters

Being a high school guy today means facing real pressure—online, at school, in relationships, and in the quiet moments no one else sees. This focus group is designed to help guys understand that sexual purity is not about shame or just following rules; it is about becoming the kind of man God created you to be.

Together, we’ll talk honestly about sexual purity and how to honor God with your body, mind, and heart. Scripture shows that purity is part of following Jesus and growing in strength, courage, discipline, and character. God’s boundaries are not meant to hold you back—they are meant to protect your heart, strengthen your future relationships, and help you live with purpose.

This group will be a grace-filled place to ask real questions, build accountability, and learn how to stand strong in a world that often pulls you in the opposite direction. The goal is not perfection, but progress: learning to pursue holiness, respect women, fight temptation, and live with confidence as a young man who belongs to Christ.

Heroes of Faith Men's Event

Men, Join us Saturday, August 29, 2026, 8 am–10:45 am (doors open 7:15 am) at Double Oak Community Church for the 2026 Heroes of Faith Special Event brought to us by Aaron & Hur Society. This event is designed for men (ages 12 & up), and breakfast is included.

You will hear firsthand stories from U.S. Armed Forces chaplains on how the Gospel transformed lives in the most demanding military environments, plus practical lessons in bold spiritual leadership. Speakers include keynote Jeff Struecker (retired Army chaplain, Silver Star recipient, and the Battle of Mogadishu veteran portrayed in Black Hawk Down), Eric Hammen (retired Navy chaplain, 30-year veteran), and Matt Berrens (active-duty Navy captain and chaplain), with worship and a panel session.

Why men should come? This event is  built to challenge men to lead with conviction and gospel courage at home, at work, and in the church — honoring those who've served while equipping everyone to stand firm in their own faith. Proceeds also support full-time scholarships for the next generation of evangelical military chaplains.

The cost is $21 per man, $9 additional to bring a friend, and Chick-fil-A breakfast is included! Veterans will have FREE admission! Make sure to reserve your tickets in advance!

CONNECT SUNDAY

CONNECT SUNDAY

The Bible teaches us that church isn’t a building or an event, but rather the people of God gathered and connected together. It’s us! So growing the church isn’t about having more people but connecting those believers in real relationships.

At Double Oak Community Church our CONNECT SUNDAY on August 9th is designed to help everyone feel and become more connected. In the Commons you can find out more information about our Community Groups, MidWeek, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry and SHINE Ministry.

On CONNECT SUNDAY we are encouraging everyone to "tase and see" what Community Groups are all about. Each of our groups will have a light breakfast, and group leadership will be available so that you can meet and ask questions if desired. This is the perfect day to invite guests and friends that attend church but not a group to join you for a CG on Sunday morning!

Whether this is your first time at Double Oak or if you have been going here for years, we would love for you to wear a name tag. Name tags will b available in the Commons, in the Worship Room and in Community Group Rooms. Don’t be a stranger—church was never meant to feel like a mall or an airport. It should feel like home! Let’s take a step towards deeper connection today as we continue growing together as God’s living family.  CONNECT SUNDAY is the perfect day for you to find your place here at Double Oak.
