PRAYER MINISTRY

Every Sunday, people come to Double Oak Community Church by the hundreds. They are of all ages and in all stages of life. And each carries untold burdens, struggles, and sorrows in their heart. Sunday morning provides us with a unique opportunity to battle against the darkness on behalf of our people, using the most powerful weapon God has given us: prayer.

The Prayer Ministry has two branches: Corporate Prayer Team and Personal Prayer Team.

Corporate Prayer Team members are assigned one monthly worship service to pray for God’s people throughout the service. This ensures that multiple people are praying for the whole duration of every worship service on Sunday (as well as special services and holidays).

Personal Prayer Team members are stationed in the prayer room at the back right corner of the worship room at Mt Laurel (opposite the baptistry). They are available before, during, and after worship for anyone to come and request prayer for whatever they need. This allows us to pray specifically for immediate needs in the moment. A 1-hour training class taught by Adam and Alison Robinson is required for all personal prayer team members.

Contact Alison Robinson at alison@docc.org to sign up or to request more information.

“Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places … Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”
— Ephesians 6:10-20
