DOCC is excited to share a new local mission opportunity. Through a partnership with a trusted local ministry serving vulnerable, at-risk students, we are inviting DOCC members to step into a life-changing role as a D3 Coach—someone who walks alongside a student transitioning from high school into adulthood. Join us for an Interest Meeting Sunday, May 31 following the second service in the Cafe.
D3 stands for Developing, Directing, and Discipling. And at the heart of this calling is a simple but profound goal: Build trust, Speak into a student’s life, Help them navigate one of the most critical seasons they will ever face. As a D3 Coach, you won’t have to have all the answers—you just need a willing heart. You’ll serve as a consistent, caring presence while connecting your student to the right resources and support systems already in place.
Application: You could anticipate walking alongside your student in areas such as:
Career and life skills
Housing and transportation
Educational direction
Financial and health awareness
Spiritual growth and mentorship
Yet you will not walk alone. You’ll be equipped and supported through our ministry partners that provide the tools and resources—you provide the relationship.
DOCC members will provide a VBS for the children of the Choctaw Reservation as well as helping with small work projects and youth ministry. Trip options are available for three days or five days.

Starting Sunday, Oct. 6 you can pick up a Backpack in the Commons for Backpacks & Bears! Since 2007 Two Feather’s Ministries has distributed 6,004 of these backpacks to three reservations where they have relationships with indigenous churches (Yakama, WA, Navajo, NM & Mississippi Band of Choctaw).
Your participation in this program assures that a Native American child living on a poverty-stricken reservation will receive gifts this Christmas. By providing children (ages newborn to 15) with these backpacks, the local church has an opportunity to share the hope-filled message of Christmas with their families as outreach!
Stop by the designated area in the Commons (10/6, 10/13 or 10/20) for more information. When you pick up your back pack we will need to gather your: name, contact info and allow us to record the red tag number when adopting a backpack. Inside of each backpack is information on suggested gifts to put inside the bag.
We ask that all completed backpacks be returned to the Commons in the designated area by Sunday, Oct. 27th.
Thank you for helping us share the Love of Christ this Christmas through this local mission partner.

Love God and love others. These words are foundational to our faith. God’s love is for all of mankind and when we grow in Christlikeness, we love others deeper. This day will be an opportunity to meet our partners and for our partners to meet us. Let’s serve well and share what the Lord is doing in our community with all those we encounter after this day. These projects offer opportunities for those of all ages and any skillset, so this is the perfect way for you and/or you family to join us in serving those around us!
