Give United

Each year DOCC sends 10% of our annual budget towards missions efforts locally, nationally, and globally. But over the past decade many new missions and charities that seek to love others in Jesus’ name have begun working in and around Birmingham. In 2016 we began to look for a way to begin new partnerships with these groups through service and financial support and Give United was born. Here’s how it works:

In the month of August local organizations can submit applications to receive funds from our Give United campaign. Then in September we challenge our entire church to give faithfully for an entire month. Once we reach our monthly budget need for September all other monies collected will be distributed to all approved organizations. Since the inception of our Give United campaign, more than $1,464,458 in grants have been awarded to local ministries in our community.

The financial gift is just the beginning. Give United is also a great way to become aware of some of the incredible missions work being done in Birmingham. Once we are aware of these organizations and their work, we have an opportunity to join them through our time by volunteering. Many of our members now serve monthly in organizations we discovered through Give United.
