SHOW STARTS AT 6 PM

Our musical for 2024 is “The Star Factor” by Christy Semsen. The setting is Camp Heart & Soul, a summer arts camp that features a talent showcase with an exciting twist: this year, the showcase winner earns the opportunity to compete on a national TV show, “The Star Factor!” The camp has asked the show’s host, Johnny Surfcrest, to be the camp’s celebrity coach…but he sends a replacement, an eager wannabe named Rick Bricklebee, who tells the children to“look out for yourself and no one else if you want to be…a star!”

The spring musical is a highlight of the year for many families in our community. Children do not have to be members of our church to participate. Our doors are open to all children (Grades K-5th grade) to come and be a part of presenting this wonderful musical!

The musical will be presented on Sunday evening, March 16 at 6 pm. Doors will open at 5:15 pm and we ask that you please do not save seats. We look forward to watching our STARS SHINE!

“BACK TO THE CROSS” CHILDREN’S MUSICAL

MARCH 17

6 PM

Kids are going to love being involved with this year's musical, "Back to the Cross" - a musical adventure that goes "back in time"! Abandoned long ago and nearly forgotten, the H/O-2000 time machine is discovered by the kids in our story while attending the annual VBS program at Double Oak Community Church. A series of time-traveling escapades ensue, taking our intrepid gang of time-jumpers on a wild ride, immersing them in strange times and cultures (including the totally tubular 1980s, the roaring '20s, the Wild, Wild West, and even the Garden of Gethsemane!), all leading to a point of discovery about the importance of the Cross and the message of the Gospel.

Your child will not want to miss being a part of this musical! We will have an exciting set, professional lighting and lots of special effects! Kids in Grades K-5th are invited to participate, and kids grades 2nd-5th can audition for a role. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 PM-7:30 PM beginning January 10th.  Then, make plans to join us for the musical on on Sunday evening, March 17th.

KICK OFF PARTY, JANUARY 10, 6:30-7:30 PM

Wednesday, January 10, is the “Kick Off Party” where kids will be introduced to the musical - the theme, the characters, the music and the plot. Since our musical is entitled, “Back to the Cross” we will have “Backwards Night” for our party! Kids can dress with their clothes inside out or backwards.
