Title: Look to Jesus
Main Passage: Numbers 21
The Israelites were incredibly prone to grumbling and complaining. They looked to material things instead of to the Lord for comfort and aid. And so the Lord lifted up a snake in the wilderness to teach them again about faith. Jesus too would be lifted up and we are called to look to Him, and Him alone, for salvation.
Title: The Perils of Pride and Frustration
Main Passage: Numbers 20
Moses was described as the most humble man on earth during his life. But no one is perfect. Towards the end of Moses’ life he will give in to pride and frustration as he strikes a rock to provide water. It may have seemed like a little thing but it wasn’t. Regardless of how long we have followed and served the Lord we must always be alive to these dangers as no one is immune.

Moses was a revered leader. But no one is universally loved. During the wilderness wandering there were at least two major challenges to Moses’ authority. How do we deal with disagreements with leadership? And how should we respond when we are in Moses’ shoes?

Main Passage: Numbers 13
This week we move into the book of Numbers. The Israelites had been led to the edge of the Promised Land but they were hesitant to enter it. After the report of the spies the choose their fear over faith in the Lord. The result was a diversion back into the wilderness for the next 40 years. Failing to follow the Lord in faith has consequences.
Title: The Need for Holiness
Main passage: Leviticus 17-27
God did not arbitrarily put all of the rules in place for the Israelites. He was teaching them that He is holy. And for good reason! They were to be holy as He is holy. The same is true for us today. We may not be bound by all of the statutes in Leviticus anymore. But we are still called to be holy as God is holy.
