CURRENT MISSION PARTNER PRAYER NEEDS AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
MISSION PARTNER PRAYER NEEDS
Alabama Baptist Children’s Home
Foster families-There are several with challenging placements right now, and those issues are magnified with the children being in the home all day with stay at home/safer at home orders being in place during the pandemic.
Pray for moms in our family care homes that are out of work right now. There are still some who are furloughed or were laid off.
The Day Program
We have had several of our adult participants lose their jobs due to the shut-down - and for the safety of our families as we transition back into providing in-person services.
Addiction Prevention Coalition
Pray for us as we think ‘outside the box’ about how to best do prevention services with students and adults during the pandemic, and that God would lead us to the person He has planned for directing the student programs.
Hearts in Hands
Wisdom for our leaders in how we get started back with helping and who to prioritize
Volunteers to help and for their safety as they work
Professional plumber(s) who will help for free or at a reduced rate
MISSION PARTNER SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Alabama Baptist Children’s Home
Volunteer Training - The second Monday evening of every month we train people who would like to volunteer to serve foster families in a variety of ways. The vast majority of our ongoing volunteer needs revolve around babysitting. Here is the link to sign up to babysit: https://www.alabamachild.org/volunteer
If anyone is interested in getting a jump start on volunteering, an early training will be offered May 18 at 6pm at our office! If interested, please email Jules Thompson, jthompson@alabamachild.org.
The Day Program
We are co-hosting a Virtual 5K Run with the University of Montevallo on May 30. The Virtual Warrior Challenge will raise funds for The Arc - here is the link to the registration page. We would love for anyone interested in participating to join us! https://www.montevallo.edu/give/advancement/giving-initiatives/warrior-challenge/
