The spring musical is a highlight of the year for many families in our community. Children do not have to be members of our church to participate. Our doors are open to all children to come and be a part of presenting this wonderful musical!

Each year our Children's Musical is a full scale production with lights, choreography, drama, and lots of special effects! The musical provides opportunities for many children to have special parts. Kids can try out for solos, speaking parts or to be part of a choreography group. Only kids in Grades 2-5 are eligible to try out for a part, but everyone who participates will get to be part of the choir!

Our musical for 2020 is “Esther-Ordinary Faith” by Kathie Hill.  The story of Esther is a great drama for kids!  There's a heroine (Esther), a hero (Mordecai), a villain (Haman), a conflict, and a resolution.  The characters in this story who were committed to God lived out their faith in an impossible circumstance.  This Old Testament book is one of the few to feature a female as the title character but still includes enough danger and intrigue to interest any boy!

Here are some important dates concerning the musical:

• Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, January 15, and continue each Wednesday through March 15. Wednesday night rehearsals are held from 6:30-7:30 PM on the Mt Laurel Campus during Double Oak University.

• Auditions for solos, speaking parts and choreography groups (for kids in Grades 2-5) are Wednesday, January 29, 5:00-6:30 PM.

• Dress Rehearsal is Saturday, March 14, 10-12 noon.

• The musical will be presented on Sunday evening, March 15, 6:00 PM.
