We encourage you to visit the JUST FOR KIDS page that has additional videos (including worship music and videos)! We are praying for your families and can’t wait until we are together again.

Resources for the Preschool Lesson

LESSON FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 2

Bible Story: God Created the World (based on Genesis 1:1-19)

Bible Verse: I am wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14

Bible Point: God made the world.

God is the Creator of all the world. He spoke, and the world came into being. This week spend some time in God’s world. Take a walk outdoors. Stop to look at trees, flowers, grass, and the sky. Thank God for all He created.

Preschool Music How To's from Miss Bethany

We use three simple steps to get preschooler involved in music and ready to Worship:

  1. Get the kids moving - You can do these with some movement songs from our Playlist or you can do some simple exercises to any upbeat song. These include doing songs with motions, marching, silly dancing, etc.

  2. Get them focused - Here you slow them down a bit and let your time become more focused. A great way to do this is by adding motions to what you are singing. If your preschooler has been coming on Wednesday nights ask them to help you learn the motions to the songs they have been learning. If not, you can make up your own that make sense with the words to the song. The first video link to the song 'Thankful' is a great example of how to do that. This helps the preschooler learn the words to the song as well as understand it's meaning.

  3. Calm them down - Use soft calming music for this part. There are some of these on the playlist as well. Here you can start with swaying and slow movement and then end on the floor doing some stretching. This one is great for getting them to calm down to focus on story time or school work as well.

Community Projects for Your Preschooler

  • Draw pictures and Jesus Loves You chalk messages on your sidewalk or driveway.

  • Create a Prayer Board and let your preschooler draw pictures of family and friends your family can pray for.

  • Draw pictures of rainbows, hearts, or crosses and put them in your windows for people to see.

  • Make treats like cookies, brownies, party mix, etc. together and then put them in baggies with a scripture and leave them on your neighbors porch.

  • Decorate rocks with paint and include a scripture reference, then go on a family walk and leave them for others to find.

  • Make decorative cards with a scripture reference and send them by mail to a nursing home or hospital.

This video is a great resource to share with your child to show how viruses spread.
