DOUBLE OAK UNIVERSTY fall 2024 CLASSES | WEDNESDAYS | 6:15 PM - 7:30 PM
THE STONES CRY OUT: A STUDY OF BIBLICAL ARCHEOLOGY • CAFÉ • LED BY TOM CASH
In this study, we will travel back in time and through the Scriptures as we discuss numerous archeological discoveries that relate to the Bible. Our discussion of artifacts, writings, and images of people and places that are mentioned in the Bible will provide a context for the clarification and illumination of God’s Word.
THE LIVING WORD: ENCOUNTERING GOD BY UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE • WORSHIP ROOM • LED BY ADAM ROBINSON
This is a wide-ranging class that will accomplish two main goals. First, how do I experience God through His Word? We’ll look at the Bible’s role in the life of a believer, where it fits in our devotional life, and some basic practices for reading and applying the Bible. Second, how can I read and understand the Bible? We’ll look at some basic Bible reading and studying habits that will help us understand how to correctly interpret the Bible, understand the meaning in context, knowledge about the Bible itself, and know how to better teach it to others. There will be teaching, Q and A with Adam, table discussions, limited exercises, and more! The overall goal is to become confident in how we engage with Scripture as believers. These skills are a must for every Christan!
